JULIE READ

Julie Read is a hair and make-up artist specialising in fashion, red carpet, bridal and commercial work. She began her career studying hair, make-up and wig making, developing her skills alongside hands-on experience in the salon. Her talent and creative flair led to her becoming Artistic Director to renowned hairdresser Terry Calvert, a role that took her around the world teaching and working on photographic shoots for leading brands including Wella and Schwarzkopf.

 

Julie has since built an extensive career across fashion, beauty and entertainment, with her work featured in publications including Vogue, Grazia, Marie Claire and The Times. Her experience spans editorial, advertising and celebrity work, combining technical precision with a creative and adaptable approach to hair and make-up.

 

Her celebrity clients include Keira Knightley, Daisy Lowe, Colin Firth, Alan Carr and Anna Friel. Alongside her work on set, Julie continues to share her industry experience through education and training, supporting the next generation of hair and make-up artists.
